Who we are
Jackson Family Funeral Directors was started early 2018 when Matthew and Laura Jackson realised there were very limited and often expensive choices in smaller Worcestershire towns. The opened their first funeral home in the riverside town of Upton-upon-Severn.
As the company developed and more families were showing trust in the company, there became a need to have another funeral director to help. In late 2018, Mark Campion joined Jackson Family and gave much needed support to Matthew.
With the realisation that the communities were welcoming a more modern and transparent approach to funerals, Mathhew, Laura and Mark opened their second funeral home in Pershore.
During this time there was a big movement of clients wishes towards a lower cost, no frills funeral. As the company was already challenging other funeral company’s hidden charges, they began offering a non-attended funeral covering the while of England and Wales.
In spring 2019, Jackson Family Funeral Directors Ltd purchased the trading name of Andrew Phillips Funeral Services, another independent funeral directors in Worcestershire. With this acquisition the Jackson Family team can personally care for families in Pershore, Upton, Malvern and Worcester. They also now have a complete funeral care centre in Upton to provide additional support for our no frills funerals.
Although the expansion of the business has been fast, there have always been discussions on whether our personal service would become effected. To ensure we never lose sight of our family environment, each funeral home has it’s own dedicated funeral director, our telephones are answered by our own team 24 hours a day and each loved one we care for is treated with the respect and dignity we would provide to our own family.

Managing Director Funeral Director for Pershore
Matt started in the funeral profession over 10 years ago, gaining experience and training with The Co-Operative Funeralcare in Worcester, Evesham and Malvern. He then developed his experience and learnt the personal aspect of care with E Hill & Son Funeral Directors in Pershore. During this time he passed his Certificate in Funeral Services and Diploma in Funeral Services.
Matthew and Laura have two young children Phoebe and Thomas who attend school and childminders local to Pershore. As a family they spend time visiting local national trust properties, zoos, the cinema and local events.
Matthew’s charity for 2019 is The Vow.
Executive Director Company Administrator
Laura assisted Matt in the founding of the company in 2018. Whilst the company was finding its feet Laura continued her role in customer services in the private sector.
Following the acquisition of Andrew Phillips Funeral Services, Laura has now joined the company full time to ensure our business administration and processes are maintained at the highest possible standard.
Laura’s charity for 2019 is the Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust.
Operations Director Funeral Director for Upton
Mark started in the funeral profession over 30 years ago, originally for a large company in London and then in the independent sector throughout the country. Mark owned his own funeral directors, Campion and New in Evesham before moving across to serve the community at M Presland Funeral Directors in Upton-upon-Severn, owned by Dignity Plc. He has a wealth of experience in traditional and bespoke services and is well known for his focus on family care.
Mark is a family man with a great love of dogs. We welcome Mark’s vision and passion for his vocation and he really has become a firm foundation in our company.
Mark’s chosen charities for 2019 are; Worcestershire Cancer Aid and Upton in Bloom.
Funeral Director for Worcester
Lee began his funeral career with a national funeral company but soon found himself being recycled around various branches, not allowing him to build up a relationship with the community.
Lee moved across to Jackson Family on a supposedly casual basis and we’ve seen him everyday since. With the acquisition of Andrew Phillips Funeral Services he accepted a full time position as the manager of the Worcester office.
He has begun creating relationships with local Worcester businesses and has extensive plans to become part of the community with various charity events and bereavement groups.
Lee’s chosen charities for 2019 are; West Mercia Women’s Aid and St Richard’s Hospice.
Funeral Director for Malvern
Tracey began her funeral career with the same national funeral company as Mark, Sylvia and Lee before moving to the independent setting of Andrew Phillips Funeral Service.
She helped Andrew manage the day to day running of the business as well as performing her role of funeral director. Her personality matches that of the Jackson Family team with a focus on providing high levels of family care. This shows that any bespoke funeral request or larger congregation can be dealt with in a calm but structured approach.
Having moved across to the Jackson Family team during the acquisition, Tracey will be working closely with Matthew to ensure families that have been cared for by both companies receive the same high level of professional service.
Tracey’s chosen charities for 2019 are; Malvern Hills Riding for the Diabled Association and Footsteps Child Bereavement Support.
Christina is the owner of Prime Mix Marketing in Worcester. Christina began working with Jackson Family as an advisor for marketing budgets and assisting with social media.
After a few months of building a relationship between the two companies it became apparent that Christina’s experience and approach to sensitive advertising helped to show the public how Jackson Family is different from other funeral directors.
Christina now manages all marketing communications allowing our funeral directors to focus on what matters to them… the families they serve.

Social Media Manager
Stephanie was working with Christina at Prime Mix Marketing and assisted Matthew with the management of our social media accounts.
Since the company foundations Matthew has used the social media platforms of Facebook and Twitter to show the public that talking about funerals is no longer a taboo subject.
With Stephanie’s experience of social media presence, and her passion to show how the Jackson Family company are challenging the public’s perceptions, she now manages all platforms through her own company, SD Social Media Solutions.
